Life's Bright Memories ⁓ (dreamers)

Life’s Bright Memories

Some things were once hard to accept,

those words that hurt were so austere.

With heads ablaze, we deeply wept …

life’s memories lie gently here.

I sit and think of all the things

we mused about, not always clear;

our thoughts so vast, we dreamed like kings.

Life’s memories lie gently here.

That which we did, dare we believed;

were they the echoes our minds fear?

Time heals dire deeds when hearts deceived …

life’s memories lie gently here.

Defending folks' and friends' true rights,

we've tried to build a world with care,

and often worked through long, dark nights;

life’s memories lie gently here.

Then, as the sun begins to set,

I look around with love to share;

acceptance takes away regret,

life’s memories lie gently here.

A better world we strove to  build …

in ways we did that hold us dear;

one with all love and laughter filled.

Life’s memories lie gently here.

When all around we look and see

an atmosphere of brighter cheer;

was what has caused it, "You and me"?

Life’s memories lie gently here.

Form poetry can be difficult as the structure can take away from the creativity and emotion. However, you two nailed this one and made a difficult form actually look easy. I am blown away. You stuck to the form while writing a delightful creative piece. An awesome collab! Julie

anything that includes "You" should turn into perfection, each verse here spoke a thought, a memory that came or yet to come, the treasures of our life, if people, things or feelings, the "dare" to keep dreaming is the highlight of this poem, (oh just noticed the title "dreamers"! :) yes perfect title).

Lovely collaboration, the photo speaks a lot, it feels like the ancient past, yet, that big yellow flower glows like the Sun, that bird, never stop looking and flying into that glorious Sun, he should be an example for us, and of course the last verse can't be more gratifying to me :)

Thank You both, I will be sure to leave her a review on her page, You can read if You wish to :)

Your welcome Richard,
At last, here I am with my review. The poem is very pleasing, Richard. The last verse, the resolution, is, as we agreed, all yours.
I am so glad you gave the poem a happy ending. and it was "You and me" who wrote the poem. Dare I say it, I feel quite proud, and very honoured that you gave me the opportunity to co-write with you. Many thanks.

This was just, amazing. I wish I could rate it over 100. Everything from the style, to the words and subtle but graceful rhyming, it flowed incredibly well. I'd read that over again, and definitely share it. Honestly a little jealous of the skill and beauty. And I have no critics to offer, I'm sorry.
