Offered Love

Offered Love

A Poem by Rion

To see you every day, but still miss you,

To hear you every minute, but not listen,

To think of you every second, you’re not to know,

To love you all the time, the pain will never show.

To hide who I truly am, whenever you’re around,

Is like wearing a mask that stabs my eyes.

To feel so strongly for one who’s a friend,

Is a love that will burn until the very end.

I can’t help but love the way you move,

The way you smile, your bright blue eyes,

It’s frustrating not knowing what these are,

These emotions that are burning the scar.

My biggest fear is that you don’t care,

That you don’t even want to be friends,

My biggest fear is that you won’t understand,

When I finally speak my mind, hold out my hand.

I only ever wanted to hold you tight,

And keep you safe from the dangers,

You’re the only one who can have my heart,

You’ll never know that you had it from the start.

It’s yours to keep, but you couldn’t care less,

My biggest fear is that you’ll crush it,

My heart, my love, rest in your hands,

I’ll be waiting, the offer still stands.
