Pick of the LitterA Poem by Rita L. SevWho chose whom?Honey was a lovely dog, A Labrador of yellow Her mate went by the name of Champ, A virile chocolate fellow
They had three litters of Lab pups All as black as coal; One from litter number three Would make our family whole
We had to choose among the nine, A difficult decision; All were so adorable, All perfect in our vision
But one sweet puppy stood out strong Her temperament arose When my husband picked her up, She nipped him on the nose
That was it; we knew it then No need for prolonged fuss That is how we got our girl ~ Frankie dog chose us!
