Vacuum

Vacuum

A Poem by Rita L. Sev
"

So, where DOES time go?

"

I’m convinced my vacuum cleaner

has gotten too much power;

it’s not just picking up the dirt,

it’s sucking up the hours.

They must be trapped inside ~

I’ll search each crevice in it

until I find all that lost time,

and reclaim every minute.

Wouldn’t it be wonderful,

a grand cosmic maneuver,

to answer “Where does time go?”

with “It’s just inside the Hoover.”

Rita this was a fun write! I find there are far too many 'time sucks' in life. I'm so glad to have some time to myself because school is out (at least until August) :) Trying to catch up on all of the read requests I missed.

You can recycle almost anything . Almost anything but TIME . Once its lost its gone . Japanese Robotics makes concept robotic maid to do house chores so human can make up for lost time . And human task can be alloted and appropriated for higher means and higher interest . Very nice Ms Rita . You have used a simple household vacuum to inspire thought provoking question and insights .

Whimsical, charming, a five star starring. It's funny because this made me think of last weekend when I had to take the vacuum apart to fix the fact that it was hardly sucking.

Glad to give a laugh! Thank you!
I could not agree more!! I want to know where all my time has gone too....it sure didn't just magically disappear. There must be reasons, some answers!! You have a wonderful way of capturing deep, serious questions and situations with wit and humor. Loved this one!

Thank you - I try to make the "deep" easy to get to... :)
I think you should get together with Professor Stephen Hawkings, as you may have invented the first ever 'Time machine !!

A funny and very clever wee poem ! Magnifico !!

Ha! I like that idea! Thank you so much, Tom.
Oh, would that it be that easy to reclaim my missing hours. Nicely done, I enjoyed.
