Counting Raindrops

Counting Raindrops

A Poem by Rita L. Sev
"

.

"

I counted the raindrops

on the window

instead of looking through

~ the path beyond was daunting

        a few steps out, obscured

I would not venture out

to splash in the puddles

~ or wait for the sunshine

so I counted the raindrops .

                                                   .

                                                     .

Thank you, Jon - so glad you enjoyed!
Beautiful, did you lose count when they mingled with dew?

What an intriguing thought... I suppose I did... Thank you, M.G.
Counting raindrops on the window, not seeing beyond that moistened glass. Somewhat sad I think Rita, but at times we need to refect on all that waits before us. Very nicely penned my friend.

Thank you, Jack - I was in a pensive mood...
and they slide
they slide
down to a pain
hollowed on the window pane
and they slide hollowed
a river a love of one.
Raindrop.

:) Thanks!
A bit like the counting of sheep when we need to sleep...
Distractions without meaning, but finding meaning in the effort.
Sadness yet calm.
I could see well thus windowed view.
Well done.

very pensive.........A shrink might say that this has something to do with your going back to that school, after your long summer break....A 'Doctor' however would say that this is a fine poem

Noo problem great work
This poem sets that rainy day mood. It inspired me to use some of your words to write this tiny gift poem for you which you may keep as your owe. The sound in “count” and “daunt” is the key to this poem:

Raindrops

From my windowpane,
the path beyond was daunting,
hidden by the rain,
so I continued counting
raindrops once again.

Not sad, just pensive... It happens on occasion. Thanks, Pryde!
Maybe better to dip a toe into the water before diving in head first !

A philosophical write from you Rita and absorbing in thought and creativity it certainly is !!
