A Poem by Rita L. Sev
"

.

"
Towering giants
such small birds that took you down
in September's sun

 Pennsylvania field
became sanctified respite
of amazing grace

Immersed in the dark
a thousand beacons came forth
with the light of hope

We walk through our lives
guaranteed no tomorrows
clinging to regrets

Thanks so much, Riley - great to see you again!
fine group ..works so well together .. interesting connection between no guarantees and regrets ... it certainly is a tragic foible to cling to them ... if we are looking back we can't see where we are going .. a perfect recipe for more regrets :{

love ya girl! ;)
Your words of advice are sage - lest we never forget the loss that pains the hearts and spirits of so many even unto this day!
No guarantees, no tomorrows; may we have fewer regrets!

A life changing day, which still haunts our reality. Well done, last verse sums it up.

I feel like the first segment overshadows the other two. (Which is funny since the towers always jump to mind instead of Pennsylvania or the Pentagon.) The other two keep the mood going, but they feel supportive to the first.

The towers are the iconic image, that's for sure... but I cannot forget Pennsylvania, close to home... read more
