Sunday Morning Moment

Sunday Morning Moment

A Poem by Rita L. Sev
"

.

"

Just before 8 a.m.

Out of the autumn-chilled air

Into the warmth of smiles

                   and inside-heat

I head toward my usual spot

In this place named for a saint

(known for his way

with vulgar language)

-         dip my fingers, bless

-         genuflect, kneel, sit

and take in the quiet communion

before the opening hymn.

Indeed... Thank you, Eddie
i believe that must be Peter eh?! there is a deep root in the Catholic Faith thinks i...one can not deny the whispers among the pillars, saints and stained glass... something is important about heritage.. your poem takes me there... my dad went to 7 am mass all his life... one of the wisest things he shared with me was "..don't ever promise God anything" :) it truly is a frightful thing to fall into the hands of God.

You paint such a vivid picture of that peace...I can feel it, through the computer screen that separates us.

My Sunday mornings are anythng but peaceful, and the moments before church are the most harried of all...

They are most definitely peaceful. It is a special kind of meditation and I always find that time to be very comforting. I can relate to this poem Rita. Thanks for capturing that moment in words.
