Turkey for Dinner

Turkey for Dinner

A Poem by Rita L. Sev
"

an ironic limerick

"

A turkey who came to my door

thought I would eat him for sure

“Don’t worry,” I said,

“I’m an utter veg-head.”

So now feeding him is my chore.

Another very punny title and delightful Thanksgiving Day poem, Rita! The rhythm and rhyme add a lot to the charm of your poem. Have a great Thanksgiving.

Thank you, Joyce - Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours as well!
I thought about adopting limerick as my writing style but I could not write humorous phrase as good as you. I can really tell that its flows naturally from your thoughts and pieces. What a relief for that Turkey knowing that it landed on someone who is a vegetarian. Do you think it might write and tell all its relatives to come to your house and turn it into a safe haven ? :)

:) Smiling here...
This limerick made me smile. In a way, it reminded me of a lighthearted story I remember from childhood. I liked the irony here, and the way you worded the bit about being a vegetarian. I'm looking forward to the holiday season after this one.
