and protests of rage

they're laying out tall tales

and half-truths of news

seems no one's been minding

their Ps or their Qs

i am so falling in love with WC .... we have forlorn hearts in geometry .. bridges of salt hurt chemistry .. alchemy predictions of volcanic fires .. now from you small pockets of vowels .. presumption of power in the face of massive consonants .. not to mention my self important exclamation points of references .. where oh where has my little dog gone????

Brings to mind jumbled, misspelled, and truncated to death headlines (print and web,) which is a pet peeve for me. I was just a college newspaper sports editor, but, honestly, sometimes I think news outlets employ kindergartners to write head (and other) copy these days.

OK... rant done. Helvetica is such a straight up, hard news kind of font (though I still prefer the old Bodoni.) If news people are going to be so lax about their Ps and Qs then they should go back to using Comic Sans! A fun and surprisingly rousing bit of wordsmithing Rita. Well done!

I love the use of the word Helvetica in describing these wisecracks and protest of rage, definitely set the tone of this piece for me :)

I imagine you still get out the typewriter from time to time, mine used to have a red ink strip, so i can imagine this qualifying too ;)
