Make Way

Make Way

A Poem by Rita L. Sev
"

She's almost here...

"

Old Man Winter,

he’s breathing his last;

the tides are now turning,

the die has been cast

it’s true, the old duffer

is no longer king;

time to make way

for Fair Lady Spring!

Gotta love Springtime - even in the throes of Summer! :) Thanks, E!
I like this. It's a good description of how each season becomes the commander then must depart for the next to administer new authority.

It's a good piece, the imagery speaks loudly and clearly. The short form is perfectly done, because the reader is not left unfulfilled by the piece.

Thank you, Carrie!
You've got a way about you and turning a phrase! Melts a snowy pathway to my poetic doorway! Write on, spring princess!

My pleasure, always!
Hope you feel the warmth of Spring soon....and see the lovely buds on flower bushes. Surely Lady Spring will be happy to enter the world if she reads your words! :) lydi**

Thank you!
Spring is always a happy season, the liberating death of old man winter and the beautiful herald of summer. I wonder what gender you'll give to summer when you inevitably write something about it? I enjoyed this as usual...pen on :)

Thank you, Stephen. I like simplicity... it's easier to find the beauty there...
He's hung on long enough; it's time he was dethroned.

Yep - I am loving the warmer (but not quite warm enough...) temps!
WoW!!! A grand welcome to spring. Now, it's tie that bone-chilling winter must get lost, and pave way to summer.

Your poems have always amused me.

Thanks for sharing this masterpiece.
