Gustav's Grief

Gustav's Grief

A Poem by Riverdance
"

Today was a rainy day thanks to Hurrican Gustav (September 3, 2008)

"

Tears tumbled forth

From swirling gray eyes

Quenching the parched fingers

That stretched hungrily across the earth

His grief filled their empty mouths

As he grumbled and tumbled about like shoes in a dryer

Brown turns to green

What once never grew is tall

Cold wind blasted my hair

80 degrees yet I'm donning a jacket

To shield against the gloomy proclivity

Gustav relinquishes so fervently

Discreet whirling and mournful howling

The nature's son is quite confounding

Until his grief is quite consumed

Not far I'll go without umbrella in hand!

I felt the shudder of the brown earth . . . but I had no words to describe Gustav's grief.

Haha. I wrote one similar to this (Trouble's Brewing) but mine's about Faye. However, mine is somewhat morbid at the beginning. And then it ends up all happy. =D

Nice going!
