do you remember?

do you remember?

A Poem by Robyn
"

first love.

"

do you remember
when we first met
that’s one day
I won’t forget
I fell in love
with your bright smile
I stared at you
for quite awhile
when we spoke
it felt so right
your voice made
my heart take flight
I didn’t know
that’d be the day
you’d follow me
I’d lead the way

do you remember
our first kiss
our first sweet moment
in total bliss
my heart stopped
the world stood still
my knees felt weak
I felt the thrill
I didn’t know
from that point on
my love for you
would be so strong

do you remember
all the time
we shared together
love sublime
every moment
meant so much
every kiss
and every touch
I shared with you
my hope and dreams
you held me together
at the seams
all I wanted
was time with you
I’d never felt
my love so true

do you remember
when we last spoke
you said goodbye
and my heart broke
I thought you loved
I thought you cared
Did you not feel
the love we shared?

I should have known
you’d be the one
who’d make my world
just come undone

This piece takes me back to a love that gave me every thing this write describes all the way til thee end. You never realize the love in til you lost it.
Thank you for sharing.

This reminds me of a past relationship. How you could give so much and love so much. You mentally journalize every touch, every kiss, every sweet word that's breathed. And then you find out that he doesn't feel the same and doesn't even remember that touch, or kiss, or word that made your heart skip beats. This is very inspiring...see what you did to me...

You were in the finalist column till the very end this is a very good piece of poetry. Sorry I didn't make one more slot for another honorable mention but don't take it personal and keep cranking out some good a*s poetry.

Wow! I thought at first that this was just going to be one of those classic love poems, with a happy ending. The twist at the end was a surprise, but I loved it. I like this much better than those other poems, this is much more true to life...the pain of unrequited love. Amazing write!

I agree with Blake Q Hatfield. It's really heartwarming, and then kind of earth-shattering at the end, nice twist to a nice poem.

Great build and then a steep down at the end. A great write! Sometimes it's moments where there's not a Disney end are the best writes.

Really liked your poem. Your choice of words is superb. Really simple, no fluff, just pure emotion. You bring to words what a lot of people experienced.

Love it
