WALKING THROUGH TIME

WALKING THROUGH TIME

A Poem by Robert Strzalko
"

A selection from The Color Of Dreams

"

Walking through time

Thinking of you

Receding from yesterday

Turning towards tomorrow

Waiting

For

The sun

To

Chase away

My

Desperation

Inspiration

Reverberation

Pushes me forward

Past

The spawn

Of

Living carnage

Wallowing

In

Decadent squalor

Contained

Restrained

Some call it

Freedom

Dreams

Have a color

All their own

Swirling colors

Shake my body

Taunt spectators

No longer awed

By

Ethereal mysteries

Revolving forms

Time stands still

When you're not near

Diminished desire

Tells itself

The fire will return

When

The moon

Is

Full of light

Selling the nation’s youth

In

Every possible way

Preaching accepted truth

They devour yesterday

Regurgitate a thought

Imitation

Indoctrination

They claim

To

Despise

Content

To

Gorge themselves

Secure in knowing

The familiar stranger

Danger that’s not danger

Exposing breasts

Not meant to nourish

Her flesh calls me

With eyes that dare me

To

Not be human

She loves me

She hates me

She destroys me

Then wants me

Preludes end

Sometimes

They take flight

Sonic memory

Forgets itself

Abandons all

For

That

Still to come

The rains

Have not yet fallen

But

Soon they will

Torrents

Of

Silver rain

Radiating auras

Into

The vastness

Of

The Milky Way

The steady percussion

Of

Premonition

Seven colors

Of

Time

Remind me

That

Everything is relative

As we

Orbit a star

Floating in space

Another trip

Around

The

Sun

Leaves me feeling

As if

I’ve been here before

As though

I’ve been striving

All my life

To

Get back

To

Where

I’ve already been

This is very refreshing to read after some of the other stuff I've been reviewing.
Mysterious line, “Walking through time Thinking of you
Interesting too, “Taunt spectators No longer awed By Ethereal mysteries” and “the familiar stranger”
There’s a part there near the middle that’s a little bit preachy, but not over the top
Amazing idea of silver rains making its way into the Milky Way
“Seven colors of time” - wow, what the heck is that, the words carry a powerful essence
The whole thing is almost like a long haiku, even if haikus are supposed to be short
The last lines are great. I feel the same way wholeheartedly, trying to get back to the source, myself, ourselves, etc
I get the feeling that you are really searching through many layers of philosophy and religion and reflections of all sort, like a vessel riding waves of it all, making its way, or drifting towards a worthy destination and answers we already know deep down

This reminds me of lyrics to song..

"She loves me
She hates me
She destroys me
Then wants me"

Some people have that effect..

"Damn, I love you, but this is crazy,
I have to fight you almost daily,
We break up so fast,
And we, we make up so passionately,
Why can't we just trust each other?
You can't hate me and be my lover,
Passion ends, and pains begins, I come back...
And we're doing it again,"

There is such a quality of the language, such a depth of meanings within. I enjoyed this

The way you've structured this creates a very fast intense pace.
Hitting all the right notes along the way.
Strikes many chords...

This was a racing word spill that just tantalizes the mind and soul... I loved this. The last lines...wow! leaves my mouth agape... wonderful..

"Time stands still
When you're not near
Diminished desire
Tells itself
The fire will return
When
The moon
Is
Full of light"

mmm, gorgeous words ... well done!

I love the way you paint the "milky way"...
Such dreams exist in my mind... so for you to write these surreal images is icing on the cake!

Sweetly penned.. and savored...
What a magnificent journey!... I will definitely come back for another trip...

This was beautiful. I will have to read it again - going through it I grasped at as many pieces as I could. The words come out at you and piece themselves together, yet it leaves the reader to take it any way their imagination sees fit. You wrote a wonderful piece, thank you so much for sharing your talent :)
