A Lady that meant a lot to me back in the day, but as in Love, not everything works out, but I'm extremely Happy now thank you very much

Once We Were Two

 

Although I’m completely happy,

I sometimes think of you,

Of memories formed together,

The times we shared as two,

How happy are you now,

With decisions that were made,

Or do you still pine for old times,

Of moments that were made,

We shared some times together,

Very close were you and I,

But no longer could I continue,

And I had to say goodbye,

 For I’ve gone and found another,

To start memories anew,

But you’ll always be somewhere in my heart,

During time that we were two.

you wrote me into this poem exactly...my high school sweetheart...circumstances more than anything split us up...she is happy now with another and they are a great couple....my life went in different directions....but worth every bit of it...i do think of "what if's" at times...but with a smile more than anything else.

True, the door doesn't always close, they are a part of your life as much as Family or Friends that are no longer with us, but we move forward, and create more memories, thanx for the review
