A Poem by Ross Emerson Realino

Empty your pockets
It's time to come home

A home where you belong
A home where it won't hurt again

A home where pain is a stranger
A home where love is your only friend

Sitting on my bed
A wall where I lay my head
It's time to sleep but I'm up instead
Waiting for the sun
Waiting for the day
My love, I'm home
Where are you?

If I could sing a song to make you smile all day
If I could give my life to make you feel this way
If I could make forever just like today
I would
I will

Even when our ship has wrecked
Even when our plane has crashed
Even when our car has lost its brake
I won't leave
I won't give up
I promise

I have cooked a meal, on the table, it's waiting for you
I have cleaned our toilet, our kitchen, and our room
I have laundered our clothes for tomorrow's use
I have ironed your shirt, your favorite all-black shirt
I have wiped your drums and my guitars
I have been standing here behind our door
With empty hands and open arms
Waiting for you to finally come home

It's a waste of tears searching outside
It's a waste of years waiting for a ride
When happiness is all that surrounds
When love is already in our hearts
When home is already in our hands
When those doubts are finally over
Come home, I'll hear your answer
Take me yours now and forever

My home is you
Your home is me
We aren't perfect
But you're everything to me

About
I used to try writing songs before but I can't make one, so I tried to find something where I can put my early works of lyrics. Until they were turned into poems. I started poetry when I was 16 years .. more..
