Mare Silvestre

Mare Silvestre

A Poem by Rowen Cameron
"

The ocean is wild and ever-changing. But that which is most untamed is often the most hypnotic and we must quell the fear of the unknown...

"
Standing before unfamiliar seas,

Silent,

Still,

Yet rapt by will

To be one with the swell
and the song of the breeze.

Only beings of courage will brave the deep,
For perils aplenty these oceans keep.

Step by step, its kiss be felt,

Soft,

Serene,

Power unseen.

A kiss akin to a sword,
Of which I bear the welt.

But cerulean seas hold happiness true
For those who embrace the untamed blue.

I cross the waves, senses weak,

Surrendering,

Savouring,

Fear wavering.

In hypnotic tongues
The untamed tides speak.

Storm or calm, it cannot be forecast,
Yet o'er I leap into fathoms so vast.
