Fine on my own

Eight sets of two lines each

I don’t need anyone

But company is nice

 

Not better off alone

Just myself will suffice

 

If friendship you postpone

At least I still have me

 

But if you need a friend

It’s easy to foresee

 

Some time with me you’ll spend

When no longer needed

 

Go my separate way

If I have succeeded

 

And you want me to stay

I’ll gratefully comply

 

Because while I’d be fine

I hate to say goodbye
