Moon Bay

Moon Bay

A Poem by Nihad Dweidary

Tonight, while the moon shone over the bay

I found you in the shimmering waters

So much of you still lives outside of you

And ripples through the air surrounding me

Like a boat that never sails

And a sail that misses the wind

You dock all your instincts

And are happy with the embers

Who told you birds don’t fly

And fish don’t swim?

Very intrigued... this is amazing.

See, I told you that you would pick up the pen again :) This was quite well done... I like the imagery of the moon and the bay, but more so, probably, the idea of a boat that never sails. So often we allow the world around us to shape the way that the wind takes our spirits, and that often leaves us bobbing in the waters aimlessly.

Very nicely interwoven with the land and the sea, as a together fluid unit.
I like your poems for they are very inspiring, and you share a certain calm wisdom here.
Thank you for sharing
