"

Dedicated to people going through depression.

Dedicated to people going through depression:
just reminding you about what you already know...

People tend to confuse it with sadness and grief.
It is much more complicated than that.
It's not something you can just get over.
It's a feeling that brings hell on earth.
You feel like you don't want to do anything in life.
Things easily give you anxiety and only fail to bring you joy.
Then you start feeling down for nothing and you just don't know what to do.
So you might start doing certain things just to fill the void.
Friends and family can easily misunderstand you and start thinking that you're the problem that you make excuses for not being with them.
Which is far from the truth.. Because you really do want to go out of your mental cage and get away from this black beast dragging you down all the time.
You don't want to ignore loved ones but of course it becomes annoying when they always ask "what's wrong?" and how can they make you feel better?
Because the thing is, you really have no idea.

I promise you that you can have everything in this world and still feel this way.
Most people turn to alcohol or other legal pharmaceutical drugs that poison you and only make you more depressed in the end.
The worst thing is that you know deep inside how ridiculous it is to feel depressed in the first place.

I can without hesitation say that depression is a disease.
It's not something that goes away by partying all the time, travelling the world, having lots of money, buying material things, going to a psychiatrist, gaining new friends, or finding a person you can love.

I say this because I've been there.
I've felt so depressed before to the point where I couldn't see any happiness in my future, questioning why I should even continue to live my life.
I've endured so much physical pain to the point where I thought the only way to end it was if I died.

Committing suicide is a choice everyone has.
Before choosing the shortest way out, I would suggest that you observe and learn more about life and this universe like I did.

Feel free to go to a mental hospital and witness other diseases and illnesses.
Go to real poverty and see how people struggle for basic necessities.
Some children live a life where they can get shot or blown up anytime of the day.
Go to the cemetery and spend a few hours and observe how many people die all the time and how many people grieve for their lost ones.
Your life problems would feel tiny at this point.

It is important to understand that everyone suffers.
Simply put, life IS suffering.
So Trust me.. There's enough evidence to suggest that...
You are definitely not alone.

When you finally see how connected you are to everyone and everything, you will feel enlightened.
You will realise that happiness and love is something you become, not just something you feel.
You will understand why giving is the most powerful human act there is.
You will finally not just comprehend these knowledgeable quotes you read everyday but also become wise enough to apply them to your life.
You will be at balance and see the harmony in things instead of things being just good or bad.
It's not about "always thinking positive" but more about counting your blessings.
Once you're on this path, which is usually a spiritual experience, always keep questioning.
Listen to people who are still on this journey...
Less from the ones who think they know everything and have the answers or the ones repeating what a book or a group of people say.
Your mind will continue to expand and it never goes back to its previous dimensions. So once you do find this path of enlightenment I strongly believe that you will not choose to go back to being depressed again.
In the end it's something you have to experience in order to know what vitality is.

It is a prose poem or short story. I like the thoughts. You remind me of the great motivator and speaker Og Mandino. He wrote a story in one of his books. "A rich man was sad and depressed. Had no reason to live. He asked Og. Give me one reason to live and I will give you one million dollars. Og told him, follow me and he took him to a graveyard. He told the rich man. Look at the graves. They reached their final path. You are alive and have opportunity to do great things. Use your wealth to find way to improve your world and your heart."

Idk
I can relate to this very well, this is a great piece of writing, and depression is one hell of an illness.

This is almost a perfect prose poem. I have been highly depressed before and almost took my life; i'm a lot better now, but depression never leaves you, not truly. You can only make it smaller and smaller, but can never make it leave.
