This Pain of Mine

The pain only certain human will truly understand.

There are so many reasons to call it quits

The tragedy of loving and being ignored

Your feelings are not enough to get the attention of the one you've given your heart away to

Could this really be what love is?

I look at your face to memorize it

I take away your pain when you are down

I give my life for you time and time again

But you refuse to do the same 

You see the pain within me 

You look through me and into my soul

And still you carry on with your own life

You carry own like I never even mattered

You torment me with your presence

You hurt me with your words

Yet I am here

I have been here and it goes unnoticed

You are my light

You are my darkness

I can be your one 

As you have been mine

But I am quickly realizing I am alone

There is no place for me

There is no love for me

So please just let me cradle myself with this pain of mine
