The Gift Freely Given

The Gift Freely Given

A Poem by Ryan M. James

A life so maidenly dwelleth here amongst such graced surrounds,
Painted with gods gardens scent and lightened with her sounds.

The waters face caressed so sweetly by hands of whispering breeze,
And songs of praise sung unto her by birds and humble bees.

The smell of ripening fruit and flower is stirred with moistened earth,
Last nights rain and mornings warmth coaxes new seeds to birth.

A morning spent here silently a gift to my own soul,
Remind us mother each new day to live our nurturing role,

For all she gave and gives so free, a debt to her we owe,
To leave this realm unscathed unharmed when comes our time to go.
