Final Words

Final Words

A Poem by Eryn ♪

Here I sit at this keyboard,
Dazed, confused,
Awake,
For the first time,
In years.

I want to cry,
To bawl those salty tears,
Those forgotten by time,
For the loss of a friend.

To gain something new,
I must lose something dear,
That is what I have been told.

The only thing left,
To keep me moving,
Forward,
Those final words whispered,
To me alone.

The bitter ending,
To a sweet tale,
A fantasy?
Maybe more,
Defiantly more.

Those words whispered
So quietly,
In my ear,
Ones only someone,
Alive,
Real,
Someone with a soul,
Could say.

Our time was short,
Cut by the harsh blade,
Of reality,
But not in vain,
It will forever remain,
A part of me.
