Without Hope

Without Hope

A Poem by SADS
"

I suffer from major depression, wrote this during one of my worse late nights.

"
How do I cope,
With unending pain?
How do I find purpose in the terror?
Purpose in the chaos.
I walk through life within a crowd of uninterested people,
Never really knowing who I am.
Never caring to find out.
The darkness swirls inside my head,
Laughing at my feeble attempts to ignore the sorrow.
I wander in the dark,
Desperately searching for escape,
For relief.
My strength wares thin,
My will crumbles under the battle.
Life loses meaning,
Like a word as it's repeated.
Happiness becomes myth.
Death becomes enticing.
As my will shakes,
So does my belief that life is what I go through everyday.
Life without hope is no life at all,
I am alive,
But I am not living.

Open to feed back. I don't like constricting myself to much structure with poetry. I just like to let it flow. But I'll never turn down good and helpful advice or even criticisms.

i can tell you don't like constricting yourself; this piece flows very well, like it's just thoughts that came out. i like how vulnerable you allow yourself to be by writing all this. my favorite line was "like a word as it's repeated." that's a great comparison. if it makes you feel better, i feel this way too sometimes. hopefully writing helps you feel better.

Writing is how I express myself. Which is the point of the medium I suppose. Where others find solace in religion or family, I find it in words. I love the works of Stephen King, Tolkien and Dougl.. more..
