Gardenia

Gardenia

A Poem by Spencer Barker

Her beauty swims the sight of early risers.
The light of day comes near,
but not far enough.
Night's darkness does not even consider to be close.
Steps lighter than leaves,
looks sharper than which the basket weaves.
Branches sway,
her hair oh does it play.
