Take the Time to Love Me

Take the Time to Love Me

A Poem by Sarah

Take the Time to Love Me

Hold my hand, like you did when we first met

Wash our car and surprise me ‘bout eight

For dinner and a movie, it’s a date

Who are we now, who were we then

I don’t need flowers or gifts

For every special day

When you look me in the eyes,

Tell me our love isn’t stale

I want your hugs and kisses

Take the time to love me

Our house isn’t a mess, it’s lived in

Raising our kids or are they raising us

So many changes from life’s surprises

Living it now, living it before kids

I don’t need flowers or gifts

For every special day

When you look me in the eyes,

Tell me our love isn’t stale

I want your hugs and kisses

Take the time to love me

I make time to love you

Take the time to love me
