Active Again

A Poem by Sean
"

Something new, written on my phone

"
I long for days of disconnect,
where a message reads,
'Met a girl, fell in love, see you Tuesday'
and on that day will be the talk of it.
I admire the unsettled and foolish
following life through turns like crazed lost teens
in convoys to parties unknown.
I wish for the certainty of nothing passing as a life plan
and making no contingencies
for such disasters as marriage and family.
Mad, like Kerouac characters, the world laid out ahead
and they will trace the white dashes where it suits them,
then spin wildly at just the right moment
and blur the lines for those left behind to follow.
Things happen, as they should,
or else, what's the point?

I adore these surreal elliptical rides through free form compositions~in this particular poetic the pliabe use of language is brilliantly showcased~
your last two lines mirror my "it is what it is" philosophy~ as for the subject matter~ society sets us a up for failure through fairy tale media forcefeedings of what they incline to impress as normal so we follow behind like good little consumers bleating for what will benefit them and not us~ well done~
