ELM TREE PLEASURES

ELM TREE PLEASURES

A Poem by SHEEMA HUQ
"

A Poem

"
Sitting at dusk by the Elm Tree
staring at the affinity of sea
engrossed by the enormity of sky
listening to the wind's immortal cry

Such a beautiful and thought provking poem about one of my favourite trees. So sad that in this country there's been and is Dutch Elm disease. Recently heard that a plantation of different elms has been planted to discovrer, sadly over so much time, which are the strongest. Meantimes,. you do so much to honour of the Elm, creating such near infinite.. if only. Your brevity displays more than a tome.

It's amazing how such a brief poem can have such a tremendous effect on me. "Wind's immortal cry" is my favorite phrase here. :)

Isn't that beautiful? just sit there, and listen? Oh I can do this for more than four hours, with closed eyes... this short poem, says so much, and it is saying you're so one with nature. Lovely done.

Than you so much Josie.
I love that feeling of having the back against a tree. There's nothing like it. This captures it majestically. I'm feeling all earthy and relaxed now. Thank you.
