Soul Mates

Soul Mates

A Poem by Stephen Longo

I wake to see my Angel for the first time

At first faintly then distinctly

Is this a dream

Or is this reality

Two perfect souls

Bounded by a single weave

Questioning this occurrence

Could it be possible?

For these two one eager hearts

Now bruised beneath body

Have joined in each other’s distant Slumber?

Could this be…Soul mates?

What else could explain our commingling?

In a state of such transcendence

Where intentions and choice

Are not in existence

What else could explain this meeting!

Two spirits of unconscious minds,

Aware of one another

In that same far off world,

As they have each fleeted their bodies

Towards what is beyond the outside of their minds

Can there be but one dream For two distant dreamers?

Things grow quiet as belief settle in

And I wake for first time
