Salty Water

Salty Water

A Poem by Stephen Longo

I am ready for Love

I am ready for . . .

Nothing clouds this mind

As eyes open; light shines

On the heart of truth

The truth that. . .

That but stands right in front of me

Time hasn’t passed

When you were without thought

So am I to believe;

That this makes me certain.

Past has always presented incapability

Should this path take another heart?

Mine . . . Hers . . .

This mind is clouded.

But what is Life without chance

Do I dare hurt one more?

Shadows cast and clarity is lost

We both walk derailed

Our tracks running of course

But what without

To have never seen

Would have never been

I won’t fall. I Refuse.

She won’t fall.

We will hold.

And she will know, I will know

I am ready . . . I am ready for . . . You.
