A Sky of Deepest Blue

A Sky of Deepest Blue

A Poem by AJ Rosterbom
"

A story of unrequited love...

"

Under the moonlit sky of deepest blue
The sigh of a lover was but a croon
Carried amongst the winds to the east
Unbeknownst to he, but the sound of soft falling leaves.

Her eyes aglow with love so pure,
A love that shall never endure
For he knows not of what she feels
And loves another, a love so real.

Under the moonlit sky of deepest blue
Cold winds blow through and through
As tears falls from eyes that shine
With love that is left behind.

As dawn draws near from a sky no longer blue
Her love for him was no longer true.
For as her love fades away,
So too her soul in grief and pain.

Gliding with the wind, her soul is free
From a heartache that should never be.

This was a pleasure to read. I actually read it twice just to make sure I absorbed it. Well written in my opinion.

Filled with emotions... expressive. It carries well the emotion that you wish to show the reader.

This is a wonderful narrative poem. You told the tale well with rich details and made me feel as if I was there. I like the repeated verse you chose for this writing. The title was fitting for the topic and the writing itself.
