THE GIRL

THE GIRL

A Story by DANGER

MANY WINDS WASH YOUR APPEARANCE,
LIKE MASKING GLITTER, TO BE SHOWN
AGAIN & AGAIN FOR SHARED CELEBRATIONS,

ALL THE PAST, DEFINES THE SOIL,
UNDERGROUND AND HIGHER,
NO DESTRUCTION OR SCREAM OF THE WILD

IT TOILS WITH AGE,
ENABLE ME TO SQUEEZE OUT YOUR LIFE,
SO BLEED
HAND IT OVER

THEN YOUR BODY WILL BE MINE,
YOUR BLOOD IN MINE, 'WHY WONT YOU DIE?'
YOU STRAYED SO FAR AWAY,
YOU KEPT YOUR PUZZLEMENT SHUT OUT WHILE THEY KEPT BARKING,

ONCE THERE WASN'T ANY WAY TO LET IT GO,
ANY WAY TO LET IT OUT
THERE BESTOWED ON YOU, NOT ONE WAY TO REPLACE IT

ALL THE WORDS YOU KNOW,
IN YOUR HANDS, YOU OWN, AND, YET,
NONE OF THEM HAS EVER DESCRIBED:

THE CITY AFAR, IN RUINS,
ITS OWN MONA LISA,
A CASTLE STILL STANDING FROM PERMANENT DEFEAT,
A WAY OF LIVING STRUCK
DOWN FOR LIVING, TOO QUICK IS THEM,
THEM THAT SHATTER FROM INTERNAL PRESSURE,
SHOWING
JUST AS QUICK
