Flashbacks

A Poem by Karter Vaugn

On my way to work driving by our old place,

watching the shows we use to watch, closing my eyes and seeing your face.

hearing a song on the radio, coming across an old picture of you

going out of my way just to drive by 24th in A avenue.

They go off like a bomb they hurt like hell, Im helpless and paralyzed

My heart goes numb my body goes weak, Im left feeling hypnotyzed

Sick to my stomach, almost in shock, imprisoned by these panic attacks

Its been two and a half years but I cant move forrward when Im stuck in a world of flashbacks.

Cooking your favorite meal with a table set for one

going out with a group of friends, and trying to act like im having fun

Looking around in a crowded place and seeing you everywhere

seeing you live your life with her, and feeling more pain than I can bear

I miss the way your name feels when its passing through my lips

I miss the chills up and down my spine when you rub my neck with your fingertips

I miss your voice I miss your laugh I miss your 60 dollars a bottle smell

The day you walked out of my life you took me from heaven and sent me to hell

They go off like a bomb they hurt like hell, Im helpless and paralyzed

My heart goes numb, my body goes weak, Im left feeling hypnotyzed

Sick to my stomach, almost in shock, imprisoned by these panic attacks,

Its been two and a hald years but I cant move forrward when Im stuck in a world of flashbacks
