Never Give Up

I don't know what you would call this but it's about when you feel everything is turned for the worse a Savior comes through the clouds like a ray of sunshine.

The darkness will try to consume you,

always look towards the light.

Your rage is what drives you,

use it to serve a higher cause.

When Satan is against you,

look towards the serenity God offers.

You will know peace

when Jesus stretches his hand towards you.

He will lift you up out of the darkness,

in which one can so easily get lost.

Steer to the light,

and you will never lose your path.

Read all that the Bible says,

and follow all of the Lord's commandments.

When you lose all faith and hope,

the Holy Trinity will provide and guide you to safety.

Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

Amen.

Great to see some faith-based poetry on WritersCafe...:)

Allow me just some constructive criticism - referring to the "rage" in the second stanza: Our flesh is not an animal that has to be tamed - it has to be sacrificed - to die to self. Our fleshly weaknesses are more than just misguided......they are the ammunition being used against us right in the middle of spiritual warfare....:)

Great poetry. I will have to dust off a few spiritual poems too now. I've slipped a bit into more mainstream writing, which tends to feed my mind more than my spirit.....should be the other way around....:)
