PANORAMA OF LUST

A Poem by penloverfool

a mortal's request...

Warning
This story is rated Mature and may contain material unsuitable for readers under 18.

Do not blame my mortal eyes

For the lascivious scenes that they can see

Do not blame them

If they cannot close right away

Do not blame my mortal mind

For the lewd views that it can imagine

Do not blame it

If it cannot halt immediately from thinking

Do not curse me

If for you, my judgment is preposterous

About these scenarios of seduction,

That rob my soul and render chaos

Remember that I am a mortal

I have the right to falter

After all, my eyes are for seeing

And my mind is for imagining

Do not blame me

Do not curse me

Just peruse the world around you, very fast

And indulge in the panorama of lust

Furthermore, I will tell you once again

I am not perfect because I am only human

I have the prerogative to stumble

I have the privilege to fall

This is a great response against the whole idea of sexual immorality - you do well to point out that lust is not particularly bad, it's just a human thing and we all should have the "privilege to fall." In my head you were talking to a pastor or an upset mother and reminding them gently but firmly (and poetically!) that all humans make mistakes and it's not that big of a deal. Great job and nice sentiment!
