You expect me to know you

To love you whole heartedly 

Because you do

Then tell me why

For I as well wish to love you 

But I can’t

For I know I am blind

Underneath all your shadows

And masks

My hands and heart 

Trying to tear down every layer

Of your infinite barrier   

What must I do?

To prove that I am worthy

Of seeing more than your shell

I want to love you not the cover up

I want to see you with my own eyes

Wipe off the make-up

Take off the mask

And look at myself in the mirror

I enjoyed this piece having been there. I believe it takes patience, to nurture love when love has played tricks on the ones we love prior. Not even the most intense love can break down barriers sometimes, but trust and time. Nice work.

Life has become so indispensable, that we are wearing masks of laugh, comfort and satisfaction. But forget to be ourselves, living a life of robot. Everything has become artificial, materialistic life that force us down into the dark. Then someone falls like a light just to make us realize that we have to be ourselves "The real ME". Very enlightening words.

doing what is expected
and very few moments we really do
what we want

and we all have this mask
society made it that way
that truth is to be hidden

under piles of rubbish

until someone says
no i want to see the real you
