"Nothing but.."

A cool glass of water on a hot day
A gaze at the moon on a spring night
All that is, in its becoming, is within
At one look inside, I realize
I am nothing
Nothing is all there ever is, as every moment
Ever present within the seas of time, ever flowing
One look inside and I see everything that ever could be
That quenching thirst
That gaze at midnight
We are the same
And indeed, we are everything
Yes, we are nothing, nothing at all
Nothing but the universe

Interesting concept you've verbalized though your poetry, Dear Poet, and I'll buy into it, as far as it goes, but we are a fair bit more than nothing, even more than the universe, perhaps.
Still, this is a fine philosophical work to grind on.

I like to think, and a work such as this affords a premise that invites thinking.

Brilliant. The thought that we are nothing isn't self defeating, but empowering. When we see that we are nothing we let go of our preconceived notions and let go of our inhibitions. Your poem was very soothing and inspirational.

i like the thought of endless possibilities within a sea of nothingness, really mind blowing. because we are indeed everything yet what is everything but nothing. a distant planet that exists out in the universe, its there but not to me is it still nothing or is it everything? good stuff i like it yo!
