A dream that won't come true!

A dream that won't come true!

A Poem by Sanjeeta Sharma Pokharel "Hridayaninadini"

A child stretches her hand

Out of the window pane,

Touches,

The stumbling droplet...

After the shower

And asks

“Daddy, why it rains?”

He has no answer,

This time…

For his bereaved heart,

Couldn't feel that rain,

Anymore!

Only if they meander

From his eyes!

He hide his tears,

And smiles

And caresses his child,

He points to

The blue firmament,

And replies

“The stars must have

Lost their toys, my child

And hence they cry,

And it rains!”

She wonders…

Her little fingers still wet…

Soon falls asleep

And dreams about her mom…

(And the wind brought

That drizzle again…)

Author's Note

 Sanjeeta Sharma Pokharel "Hridayaninadini"
For this dream, which won't come true!
And the laughter, that just left you!
(Four months without you, Mom,
I can't help myself,
The rain always brought to me,
The message,
that you are here,
Yes, somewhere...
Mom, I miss you)

Touching. Yes, Life has its losses that can't be replaced. There are sad hard truths. But may you find peace. I'd like to point you to a powerful poem, that I found helpful and which I read at my Mother's celebration of life ceremony. It is a rewrite by me of a popular poem by Mary Frye, and can be found at http://www.writerscafe.org/writing/rpuetter/634259/. I hope this is comforting. It was for me.

Best regards,

Rick
