Waiting in the wings!

Waiting in the wings!

A Poem by Sanjeeta Sharma Pokharel "Hridayaninadini"

When I am done…

With this ruthless world-

I shall crack these planks-

And shall set myself free-

And shall fade away into that wilderness-

Where no mortals can catch hold of me!

Where pelf has no value-

And where beasts boast of nothing!

In that Elysium land of no vanity!

I shall lie on the grassy-turf…

And shall tease the roaring clouds-

On top of me…

And that first droplet-

That shall hit my leather-

Shall drench the soul from within…

I shall sneeze the world out of me!

And shall pay no excuses-

For, manners are for them

Who lack it!

And I lack none of them!

I shall dance in the melody

Of splashing streams-

And this gusto- I shall orchestrate,

With my feathery friends…

In that soil of mighty roots,

Where the earthworm rules!

I shall pilfer the aroma-

Of the first shower that heaven shall bless…

And that whisper of the breeze-

That shall cascade through my ears-

I shall hear the message…

And the gush of splendor!

I shall traverse the darkness-

Once I feared a lot!

And shall kiss the fireflies-

A perfect world- it will be-

Of no yearnings and no lies!

I shall reach to the hamlets-

Of leaking roofs and broken benches-

But richness that ruffles through

The worn out curtains-

And reach those bruised lips-

With the most treasured smiles…

When I am done…

With this ruthless world-

I shall crack these planks-

And shall set myself free…

Melancholic and cathartic. While reading it i did feel my eyes getting wet realizing the unfairness of life and what it does to hearts.
