Your Sweet Poison

Your Sweet Poison

A Poem by Saphire Stridon-Traencendyis

Your sweet poison,
Like a well aged wine.

I sip again
For the first time
In so long,
Your sweet poison-
It fills me
Spreading like a disease within.

This poison
Draws me back to you-
Again and again.

I’ve resisted the urge
For so long
And yet
I sipped from the bottle anyway.

“I want more…”
I think
“I need more…”

Your everlasting pull
Becomes strong again.

Please, don’t kill me
Take our connection
As a special bond-
One to be cherished.

I haven’t forgotten you
Or your sweet sweet poison-

My guardian angel…
