"

The path through the pasture

Along the cattle trail

This I walked in childhood

I remember the path very well

Next I enter the wooods where cool

From the damp ground rises

Drawn by the essence of sweet shrub

When in mid-summer the scent surprises

To lie down upon the cool earth

And idle the time away

Listen for the sounds of nature

As in my busy thoughts I play
