i wrote this story a couple of years ago... i know there are a butt-load of pacing problems i haven't quite worked out yet and some weird-sounding kinks scattered here and there, but i'm still quite proud of this because it was the first 'long' piece of fiction i'd ever completed, so it holds a great deal of sentimental value for me, and i'm definitely very fond of it... i thought i'd share it with you guys, so if you're looking for something to read and review, have at it...

word of warning though, my writing style is kind of character-focused -- not a lot of plot here and not a lot of action... i'd be happy to label my stuff 'boring'... SO PLEASE DO NOT OPERATE ANY HEAVY MACHINERY WHILE READING THIS STORY.
