Riptide Insanity

You see through me like I was a ghost,

Body to body, Nothing more than your host,

Summon me at the spin of your die,

Grabbing my shirt, tell me never to lie,

You collared me, caged me, rephrased me,

Put the leash down, law down, behaved me,

You can own me, but never rename me,

I was born a villain, you could never shame me,

See, I rose from the ashes of fury,

Born from the embers so you could never hurt me,

The sound of screaming is music to my ears,

Frequency bleeding pitches into my years,

Sirens did their job to drown the sorrows,

Held you up like the end of a bottle,

From yesterday till tomorrow,

Each sentence you hollow

I’m on your sea of pity, you hit me,

Are you with me or against me?

Phantom of the sky, I disappear with the night,

Blinded by your gold, your fandom, your light,

Save me from your vanity, ignite me with insanity,

Humanity, can’t you see? He’s suffocating me,

Your maze, your monsters,

with desires you haunt her,

Your praise and your flaunter,

Narcissus,

You taunt her,

Never learned no, instead you taught yes,

Impressed, choking me for your stress,

Undress.

Your wounds, your mask, your facade,

Remember, please wake up, this life ain’t a game,

I hate you, don’t touch me, don’t break me,

You vanish like freedom, you demon,

God save me

I hate me

I liked the above lines. Like a Motorhead song pounding the truth into my brain. Sometimes, we must tell the world to f**k off and do what we need. Thank you for sharing the outstanding poetry.

The thing that stands out to me as being so authentic is how this narrator sounds ambivalent. I love the way you straddle the fence, one minute seeming to want this & the next moment rejecting it. a very interesting piece, turns the tide on the abuser...she already has her own demons and his cannot harm her any more than she already is.
and she hates herself for loving him...and yet she knows he does not own her although he thinks he may.
a lot of conflict woven into this really exciting write...it has such a rhythm to it...i was rapping it as i read it.
