If I walk away

If I walk away

A Poem by Sarah Hale

If I walk away

will I be able to let you go?

If I choose to stay

what would you say?

If I try to forget

will my heart still remember the day that we met?

If I run away

will your smell still linger around me?

If I don't cry

will my tears run dry?

Who am I to you?

Just some girl you used to know?

The loser who bites her lip each time you walk past?

If I say I hate you

would you believe me?

because it wouldn't be true.

teenage angst is very apparent. very sweet and a tad touching. you express the feelings most teen girls wouldn't have the guts to. great read.

Sweet and a little heartbreaking. You expressed the feeling of "teenaged love" (though one needn't be young and inexperienced to feel his way) quite wonderfully. The cadence and flow of this were really nice as well.
