Soil and the Ladybugs

Soil and the Ladybugs

A Poem by Saria Lon

The birds at green dusk
speak quietly,
an audible medicine;
a lesson:
Am I bad for my few words
at the fluorescent playground
where my purpose
is to analyze and question?
I feel shy,
but then there's numbers in the sky -
some are flying,
some are still,
some are shining,
invisible.
Soil and the ladybugs
on the tree bark that I love
become my only portal
as a hopeful mortal
to invincible.
