Red, White, and Blue

A love for my country<3

Red runs deep within my veins,
Filling me with valor and pride,
In this country called America,
I always have and will reside.

White sleeps soundly deep inside,
The very confines of my soul,
The white you'll find on wave and crest,
That washes on our shores and shoals.

And blue, you'll find, inside my heart,
Deeper than our shining seas,
Strength and bravery, you will find,
Will always be inside of me.

Our stripes have always paved the way,
Guiding out nation's past,
And still our stars will brightly shine,
Upon our future, so steadfast.

Author's Note

This is just a little something I randomly wrote while sitting in my American History class. I was staring blankly at our flag and it just popped into my head. Sorry for it being a little unrefined, but I hope you like it. :)
