Escape from Reality

Escape from Reality

A Story by Savannah Giovanna

She was genuinely happy. So happy that she could not hide the goofy smile spreading across her cheeks. Her eyes crinkled with delight while she giggled at him. She was in love. She had found that one person who made her the happiest. And she planned on never letting him go.

He was finally with her and talking to her again. Not only that, but he had changed in the best way. He was not afraid to tell her how he really felt about her. He was looking at her. Smiling at her. Loving her. And for a moment, just for a moment, it all felt so real. But then she woke up. And the sting of reality washed over her numb body. He disappeared from her subconscious as quickly as he had invaded it. She woke up that morning the same way she did every morning; with a heavy heart, knowing that her dream was simply a short escape from a harsh reality.

Nice try! You have a good base to begin a larger, in terms of scale, story there though!

Thank you!!
favorite line: sting of reality. This didn't go the way I thought it would, but of course I'm biased by my own experience. I thought the second paragraph was going to be and then she saw who he really was and harsh reality etc.

Thanks for the review!
I like this one. What made him change? I was thinking something a bit untoward. Ah... A surprise.

I have a few ideas for rephrasing a few things if you are interested.
