Ever Since You Left

Ever since you left this place

My world has ne’er been the same.

I watched the pieces crumble beneath

The very ground I did steadily pace.

 

Ever since you left this place

My world has become unclear

To me and I have become very lost.

I have nowhere to call “base”.

 

Ever since you left this place

My world has crashed in to torment

For my love, Bella suffers, and

It debased her at our favorite place.

 

Ever since you left this place

My world came crashing at my feet

Crying for your return

Through defeat, to learn to face.

 

Ever since you left this place

My world has been a struggle

To justify why to keep going

Why I have to stay in this place.

 

Ever since you left this place

My world has been lonely

Without you in it, without your voice,

Silken, with love weaved in lace.

 

Ever since you left this place

My world has been quiet

Without your cheers, and bravado,

To keep me striving for justice grace.

 

Ever since you left this place

My world has been flipped upside down,

Those ‘friends’ we shared, no longer share me;

Nor did they with any trace.

 

Ever since you left this place

My world seems to be rolling out of control

With nowhere to go;

When I all I want is your embrace.

 

 

Ever since you left this place

My world collapsed all around me,

But I wanted to remain grateful

Provided the cosmos--time and space.

 

But you never realized how much of my world

Belonged to you.

You gave me hope.

You gave me inspiration.

You gave me back dignity.

Ever since you left this place,

The part of my world you belonged to crumbled

Beneath me.

As I’m still rebuilding what was lost, there isn’t a day that

Goes by when you’re not missed"

But I pray to learn how to keep you with me.
