Bring the Rains

Bring the Rains

A Poem by Sazaku
"

"
Through the fatigue of absent dreams
blooms a peace, though I know not what it means.
Stalwart grace burgeoned from a bed of woe,
shattering these icebound crags for room to grow.

My hand flows with a rhythm hardly matched
by the driving cadence of a surface yet scratched.
Impetus beating as the wings of a soaring beast -
a wretch enchained, but for a moment released.

This clarity will no doubt shortly fail
just as with every breath, we must exhale.
I can feel the fog closing in on my wilting eyes
but at least I could briefly glimpse beyond the lies.

Damn the fates for this capricious impotence.
You think you can forever silence my eloquence?
Once, I let you steal the ink from my pen.
Hear me now when I scream - never again!

So come, bring the rains down upon my throne.
Let their sorrows at once become my own.
Again one day will come the blessed sun
and I'll be cleansed of all the damage you've done.

Well, it's beautiful, quite beautiful, but the real compliment is that I wish I had written the damn thing!
