Lost Refrain

Lost Refrain

A Poem by Sazaku
"

"
I feel this yearning once again...
to gently, deftly cause the tides to bend.
But my efforts are crushed before they can ever begin.
Black screen. Credits roll. Farewell. Amen.

Sealed shut, this beaten-down creativity.
Usher in the new wave of monochrome variety!
Take your pick of our fine, ephemeral vanity...
to venture beyond the lines is blasphemy.

Too heavy is the hand that sewed the seeds
of the vines that dragged me to my knees.
Tasks I once did effortlessly
have been consumed by this twisted flower, disease.

But against the grain I grind my pen,
chipping off the veneer of my reticence
til the scorching light of exigence
demands I start to crawl again.

Unable to contain these echoing thoughts
from bursting through these cages wrought
of shadows coalesced from chances lost
and all the chaos my heart's been taught.

So as the blood drips off this crumpled page,
pooling on the boards of my shuttered stage,
I dip my quill in these silent remains
and scratch out the words of their lost refrain.

Many reasons to release words to paper.

I understand and I like the above lines. Good writers and poets bleed to paper. This is realistic and worthwhile words to be shared. Powerful thoughts led to proper ending. Thank you Sazaku for sharing the excellent poetry.
