Isolation

Isolation

A Poem by Sazaku
"

"
Silence crawls upon my skin-
hissing, screeching, an infernal din.
It seems I've lost my way again...
much to my sincere chagrin
I've come once more to where we began.

Whispered footsteps brush the floor
as come and go meet at the door.
Do I beyond the portal go,
or venture within my woe some more?
Perhaps one road leads somewhere I know.

But within this spiral too familiar,
laced with haze and fog, I blunder,
stumbling through this ephemeral dream.
Beyond the eyes of any augur,
deep within a conscious stream.

Speak to me your hallowed words.
Share your every truth censored.
Upon the strings that keep me sane,
beyond the veil of visions blurred,
is a hope that one day I'll escape the rain
that washes away the ink from my brain.

beautiful. you've put into words a very familiar solitude. i really like the last two lines- for me personally, it describes perfectly the smothering effect that depression has on the inspiration to write.
